About The Colony Resort
The Colony Resort is a family-friendly, scrupulously maintained condominium complex consisting of two buildings containing units called "colonnades" and two larger separate cottages. Every unit of the Colony Resort is individually owned, thus each property features unique décor.

The Colony Resort is located just two blocks from the causeway, convenient to the downtown historic district, as well as dining, shopping, arts and entertainment. Most importantly, the Colony Resort is mere steps from the beachfront, and all units have full beach access to a private beach that has been frequently described as one of the best beaches in the world.

Colony Resort Unit Amenities
Every unit of the Colony Resort features a small, but fully equipped kitchen complete with microwave and dishwasher, separate bedrooms that sleep between one to six guests, bathrooms with a shower and bathtub, screened-in porches and air-conditioning. All units also include TVs, VCR, cable and wireless Internet access, as well as the basic necessities of cookware, dishes, linens and towels. Maid and linen services are available for an additional fee.

All units have full access to a heated swimming pool, coin-operated laundry facilities, picnic tables, barbecue grills and a sun deck with lounge chairs. Parking lots are located adjacent to the buildings and parking is limited to one parking space per unit. However, additional parking passes may be purchased for a small fee.

Attractions and Activities Near Sanibel's Colony Resort
Sanibel Island is famous for its shelling, but the island also boast numerous other outdoors activities such as bicycling, sailing, fishing and even snorkeling. Bicycle rentals shops are numerous, as the island boasts 30 miles of paved trails through gently rolling tropical scenery. Fishing charters are also plentiful. Even if fishing is not your thing, boating eco-tours are available for visitors who wish to watch the dolphins, manatees and sea turtles native to the area.

The Sanibel Museum is an ideal attraction for those with an interest in history and features a calendar full of educational family-oriented programs and events.

The J.N. Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge is one of Sanibel's most noted attractions and a must-see for any naturalist or wildlife lover. Famous for its migratory bird populations, the refuge is the principal undeveloped mangrove ecosystem in the country.
