The West Wind Inn on Sanibel Island is a holiday resort on the Gulf of Mexico. The Normandie Seaside Café offers great food at reasonable pricing and is open for breakfast and lunch seven days a week and serves an evening dinner on Friday and Saturday nights November through May. Join us at the Upper Deck pool bar overlooking the Gulf of Mexico for lunch, snacks and of course, cool drinks and meet Island lovers from around the world.

Sanibel Island is 4 miles from the mainland and is easily accessed by a causeway. The island boasts wonderful wildlife, outdoor adventures world-class fishing, golf, tennis and beach combing. It’s a perfect place for star gazing. You can bicycle over 21 miles of Island pathways. We are the closest resort to the J.N. “Ding” Darling Wildlife National Refuge and back bay canoeing and kayaking.

You will not find Hi-Rise buildings, neon signs, or traffic lights on the island, making it a very unique and special place. We are pleased to help you arrange trips to other out islands, fishing charters and cultural events. Our island is also known as the “island of the arts.”
